About Brain Injury Rehab

Brain Injury Rehab is not a physical clinic or location. It is group of Associate Therapists, and myself as Case Manager, who work with our clients in their homes and communities, and also conduct business from our respective Home Offices, i.e., to make calls, work on computer, etc.

As a team of Associates, many of us have worked together long term and have a familiarity from experience of how to work most effectively on your behalf.

About Paul Standish

I worked as a Case Manager & Vocational Rehab Specialist from 1991 to 2002 with (NRC) Neuro-Rehab Consultants Feldman & Associates.

In 2002, I started my business, Brain Injury Reabilitation.Ca – As a Regulated Rehab Professional (RRP), I possess the Skill Set to address your rehab needs.

As a Regulated Rehab Professional (RRP), I have two main jobs; I CO-ORDINATE & ADVOCATE: That is, I coordinate the introduction of necessary rehabilitation therapy services and goods and I advocate for your medical/ rehab needs with your; insurer; family doctor; specialists; lawyer; Rehab Team; and community professionals, e.g., taxi, pharmacy, gym, etc.

I will take an active role in following your progress and addressing barriers as well as help to guide you through the various stages of the medical/legal process so you know what to expect and can plan accordingly.

My Philosophy

I have an original saying, “Curiosity is the Key, to Unlock Life’s Mysteries”

I don’t judge a book by its cover. I want to learn about who you are as a whole person not just how you “present” with injuries or circumstances.

Together, through empathy, communication, knowledge & understanding, I’ll help you find your best Pathway to Progress, until your case settles.

Typically, my client’s end the rehabilitation process when a Settlement Agreement has been reached between their lawyer & the auto insurer.

This can take between 2 to 5 years on average. I have worked with clients whose cases took as long as 11 & 13 years to settle.

By offering guidance & support to navigate the sometimes challenging Medical/ Legal Landscape, I have been referred to as a kind of “Rehab Sherpa” whose job is to ensure your safety and return you to improved health & wellbeing.

Boutique Rehab Company:

Myself and my team of therapists will work effectively in unison with you and each other in part because of our expertise & experience and time spent working together.

By focusing on a fewer total number of clients, we ensure the Highest level of service to you.

Good Afternoon Sir Paul!

I need your great help in correcting my grammar as well as where I should exactly be sending my nomination letter.

I am DT, a Physical Therapist in Canada. I had car accident of January 16, 2014. I was brought to Lakeridge Hospital and diagnosed me with concussion.  Based from my experiences some of the family doctors weren’t have in depth knowledge about the complexity and impact of car accident in the brain.  They advised me to go back to work as Physical Therapist because there was nothing wrong with me. I was hopeless cause I was experiencing double vision, vomiting, pressure headaches, general body and mentally fatigue, poor concentration and coordination and later on I developed seizures.

After 1 and half years during the course of my ordeal I came to know this Case Manager. He was the only one who believed in me when no one believes.  He stood by me. Just mere glanced he knew that there’s something wrong with me.

He has made a measurable impact over the past 5 years as a passionate Case Manager.

His activities are as valued as his skills and they include; working with me as a client to help me to understand and overcome my fear. He’s my advocator for ensuring the best interest of me. He was both my eyes, ears and mouth.

He ensured that the services outlined the clinical pathways were provided.  He coordinated the clinical multidisciplinary team . He oversee the evaluation and satisfaction of my needs, seeks to ensure the continuity of my care by avoiding fragmentation and duplication of my services.  He invites members to attend meetings and maintain relations among consultants and involved in the follow up.

He’s like a big brother to me who is most in need of one. His contribution becomes all the more impressive when i consider many personal challenges that he himself endured over the years.

I was quite impressed by kindness,  commitment,  determination,  drive , respect and dedication.  He has truly inspired me with his selflessness,  great performance,  persuasiveness,  resourcefulness, persevering advised and innovative case manager.

It is my deepest honor and highest respect to nominate Mr. Paul Standish as the best Case Manager.

Dear Sir Paul,

Greetings! I take this opportunity to reach you by e-mail. It’s been six months since the last time we talked.

The vehicular accident involving my daughter enormously affected my family. As a mother, it deeply saddened me that such incident had befallen upon my daughter. Nevertheless, I arn so grateful to Our God that fate brought you into our life. Words can never express my heartfelt gratitude to you, for never giving up on my daughter. You are a person with a heart, not only performing your sole task as a case manager, but beyond the limits.

Truly indeed you are an “extra miler”. You are really worthy to be emulated and admired for such services of an enthusiastic a. concerned case manager who have proven to be instrumental in the recovery of my daughter.

I greatly appreciate you for every single thing you bestowed upon rny daughter ‘s predicament. Finding medical experts, professional assistances and institutions which will certainly enable her to regain her old self to the fullest.

For all of these, no word can express my sincere appreciation. Thank you very much for everything you’ve done for us. More power!

(Respectfully yours,
MARIA ANA T.

Paul Standish has selflessly helped me more than anyone else (besides family & Dr. Mikhail) since my accident in 2016. In fact, he has provided me with over 330 hrs on a “Protected Account” basis and has not been paid even one cent in 7 years.

I was so dysfunctional that I actually dropped out of sight from 2019 to March 2025. That’s when Paul Standish  picked me up from the hospital and literally saved me from the streets and paid my first & last month’s rent and then spent months finding me a new lawyer and has helped me re-apply for Catastrophic Impairment Determination, so I have a chance to obtain fair compensation to help me to be financially supported given my disability, in the future, thanks almost entirely to you Paul. I can’t thank you enough!

You’re my True HERO!

“David” Celal Apo Ciyayi

Paul Standish served as my case manager for approximately two years, from 2018 to 2020, during a crucial stage of my recovery. As a specialist in brain injury rehabilitation, he brought deep knowledge, structure, and consistent support to my rehabilitation plan.

I sustained a brain injury following an accident in 2015, and by the time Paul took over my case, I was still facing significant challenges in daily functioning, memory, and overall stability.

Paul’s approach was both professional and genuinely compassionate. He took time to understand my needs, coordinated appropriate therapies, and helped me navigate complex services that I struggled to manage on my own. His guidance contributed meaningfully to the progress I made during that period, and I experienced noticeable improvement under his care.

I am grateful for the role Paul played in my rehabilitation and for the positive impact he had on me.

Reviews

My experience with this rehabilitation team has been outstanding. The occupational therapy services began with a very thorough assessment of my daily functioning, and the therapist created a personalized plan that truly supported my needs at home and in the community. I was taught practical strategies for memory, organization, self-care, and energy management, which made a real difference in my day-to-day life.

The cognitive therapy sessions were also extremely valuable. They combined restorative exercises with compensatory strategies that helped me improve my attention, problem-solving, and overall independence. The team is professional, compassionate, and genuinely committed to helping clients recover and regain confidence.

I’m very grateful for the support I received here and highly recommend their services to anyone recovering from an injury.
